Other:
Audun is housed on our small farm with one Fjord mare. He has successfully serviced her 4 years in a row and also serviced 2 outside mares in 2024. He has shown no aggression toward foals when housed together with the mares.
Audun is familiar with farm surroundings including other livestock (dairy cattle, sheep and chickens) tractor, sickle mower and manure spreader. He is respectful of single strand grazing fenceline and familiar with daily paddock moves. We have a small area with wood board fencing to which he is also accustomed. He loads into a stock trailer with no issues, is kept barefoot with trims as needed and will be receiving annual EWT/WNV/T/Coggins in the spring 2026.
One of the most important reasons we decided on Audun as a sire was reproductive longevity. Both Audun’s sire and dam were in their early 20’s when Audun was born. Reproductive longevity indirectly speaks to overall health, which includes metabolic health. Neither Audun’s sire or dam had metabolic issues and Audun shows no signs himself. He is maintained on good quality grarss hay and a daily ration-balancing mineral.
